Is there any doubt that Djokovic is the Stats GOAT?

It's important for everyone to know that having 1 ATP Finals (nvm 5) is worth way more than any Olympics.

And that Djokovic has more masters and ATP Finals than Nadal while trailing by just one slam.

Djokovic has everything important over Nadal but one slam.

Djokovic has: more masters, more ATP Finals, more Big Titles, more weeks at #1, more year-end #1, a better H2H, etc. etc.

A one slam lead can never make up for that.

GS titles are most important stat Nadal leads Djokovic with more world Championships 22>21.

A one slam lead can never make up for everything else Nadal is behind in.

Nadal also has too many holes in his resume. 0 ATP Finals, lacks Miami, Paris and Shanghai (2009-).

Can't compare.

I posted this 2 months ago and it's not updated. And I'm too lazy to. But it still applies:

Let's look beyond Nadal's temporary one-slam lead (gifted by the Australian government):

Weeks at #1: Djokovic has more than 3 full years at #1 over Nadal (372>209)
Year-end #1: Djokovic has 2 more year-end #1 over Nadal (7>5)
ATP Finals: Djokovic has 5 more ATP Finals over Nadal (5>0)
Masters: Djokovic has 2 more Masters over Nadal (38>36)
Top 5 wins: Djokovic has 109 top 5 wins>Nadal has 90 top 5 wins
Top 10 wins: Djokovic has 232 top 10 wins>Nadal has 181 top 10 wins
Top 10 win %: Djokovic 68.84%>Nadal 64.41%
Top 5 win %: Djokovic 59.80%>Nadal 59.69%
Big Titles won: Djokovic 64>Nadal 58
H2H: Djokovic leads 30-29
Peak season(s): Djokovic has three 3-slam seasons (2011; 2015; 2021); Nadal just has one (2010)
Peak season(s): Djokovic has the highest peak point total (16950)
Peak season(s): Djokovic's 2011 and 2015 seasons are far greater than any season Nadal has ever had and his 2021 is close to Nadal's 2010.
Peak ELO rating: Djokovic #1 all-time (2629); Nadal #4 all-time (2552).
Holes in resume: Nadal never won ATP Finals, Miami and Paris despite those events being played every year; Djokovic never won Olympic gold in an event that happens every four years rather than every year.

*Djokovic also has the Double Golden Masters (showing his versatility on all surfaces) and Nadal hasn't taken a set on a hard court against Djokovic or won any match off of clay in almost ten years!

Conclusion: Djokovic not only leads in almost every important category and leads the H2H over Nadal and has done much better against top players, but his peak is much higher as well, as demonstrated by peak points + best seasons + peak ELO rating. Djokovic is also better than Nadal on every surface and conditions except on slow clay as Djokovic has way more slams on hard court and grass over Nadal and is way better indoors.

Djokovic has only more weeks at no.1 and the WTF.

Nadal has everything else :

  • More slam titles (by far the biggest record)
  • Better slam h2h (11-7 & 10-4 against Fedovic)
  • The Olympics Gold Medal
  • More Career Titles
  • More Career Match Wins
  • More Davis Cups (Nadal's singles record there is 29-1!)
  • 4 Decimas including at a slam (14 FO) and at Masters 1000 (11 Monte Carlo & 10 Rome)
  • Better Record in Slam finals (22-8 instead of 21-11) and no losing records to anyone in a slam final (Djokovic is down vs Nadal & Wawrinka)
  • More slams in less tries (22/65 vs 21/68)
  • Double Career Slam BUT combined with the most titles in one slam (Nothing to prove on any surface but also has reached the only God mode level)
  • More longevity as a slam champion
  • Having won 4 slams without losing a set(Djokovic has none!)
  • Having defended a slam 5 times in a row
  • Least losing records against the field
  • Way more weeks in the Top 2, Top 10, etc.

More weeks at no.1 (mainly because of Nadal's injuries) and WTF isn't enough for me. With his slam record, Olympics and tons of the other records, Nadal is clearly the GOAT. Djokovic needs to win the USO or/and the FO 2023 to have again a signifiant advantage (and based on the level shown at Wimbledon struggling against a weak field I think it will be difficult).

Nadal Also has Golden double DCGS over Djokovic and most Consecutive weeks in top 10.

Nadal Also has 6 GS titles on both Clay and hardcourts only player in history.

Nadal has most weeks in top 2.

Important Notice: Combining the Big titles into one total is pointless and inaccurate since for example a M1000 is nowhere near a Slam so they can't both count as the same value.
Agreed. We should leave out the M1000 since they're considerably inferior to the other 3.

Totally subjective. Because they were never worth as many points as a M1000...at any point. And now they're worth zero.

And the ATP clearly placed its value below a masters (see pic above).

So, no. You can't claim that without saying "in my opinion."
