The best serving performance I've seen from Sinner in a while. Also, 7th win in a row against Djokovic. That's not for everyone. Sincaraz final incoming.

I feel like if Sinner and Djokovic were the same age nole would have < 5 majors. Seems to have a game that gives him very little options. I always felt like the players that could hit through Nole always stood a fair chance but Sinner does this with such unrelentless pressure and consistency it's a real foil for Novak's game.

BTW neither fed or rafa could hit through nole. Think more players like Safin, Kyrgios, Vesley and Wawrinka.

Tbh Djokovic's return game has declined significantly. He still hangs on by experience and his serve but he doesn't garner nearly as many breaks of serve or break opportunities as he used to. Per ATP stats past 52 weeks

1st serve return pts won - Alcaraz leads at 34.9%, then Baez! at 33.7% then Sinner at 33.4%. Djokovic is rated 13th there.
For second serve return pts % won, Sinner is king at over 58%! Djokovic at 53.2 comes in 9th for that stat.
In terms of % return games won, again Sinner leads at 33.3%, followed by Alcaraz, then Djokovic comes 9th at 26.5% so there's a clear gap.

If you change the filter to apply to only when playing against top 10 players, the differential becomes even more obvious (note of course the rating has limitations, some random names will have good stats at times - Vacherot leads this category filter :p).

Djokovic also ranks #35 in the under pressure filter for break pts saved.

Exhibition or not, Sinner has been too good for Djokovic for the last couple of years. The matches aren’t even close. Whether it’s a slam, BO3 matches or exhibition. Djokovic is just too old and slow to handle Sinner’s current precise game.

Sinner is a consistent rally machine and he hit is really hard with a lot of power, it’s very impressive. He can do everything Djokovic does right now but better, hence it’s a mismatch right now.

Prime Djokovic vs Prime Sinner would have been a cracker but this matchup feels unfair due to the age gap. But that’s how the sport is, you always get displaced by the younger player eventually, Father Time beats nobody. Djokovic still being the 3rd best player in 2025 at the age of 38 is impressive nonetheless. No one can fault him for not handling Sinner at his prime age.

oh boy, a quick interview right after the match when asking the question if he still have the desire to keep playing, didn't he say "I still have my body what I have" :spit::spit: He has his mind what he wants but silly him, his body gave up already.. he can't challenge Sinnalcaraz anymore.

He still awaits when Sinnalcaraz are out before the slam finals for the his final chance at 25.
