Sinner hasn't done anything this year expect for choking against Djokovic at Wimbledon.

I am yet to see anything special in Sinner's game. He just seems like this era's Berdych. While Alcaraz has a weakness in the serve department, I think he is a level or two above Sinner.

 

Alcaraz at 19 y.o : 1 GS, 2 GS QF, 2 Master 1000, 2 ATP 500. Beat Djokodal back to back
Sinner at 21 y.o : 4 GS QF; 1 ATP 500, 4 ATP 250. Never beat Djokodal (choked everytime he had a lead, FO 2020, Rome 2021, FO 2021, Wimbledon 2022)

But Sinner is the next big thing....

 

How is a serve easy to get?

 

Alcaraz has more variety, more mentality and a higher ceiling than Sinner. His ground game and forehand is more versatile also. I don’t see it but time will tell.
Sinner’s game is very low margin. Alcaraz has shown he is able to regroup and change tactically. Sinner is kinda predictable and no plan B player. Of course he is very dangerous when he is on the zone.

 

From what I have seen so far from Sinner, he has a game similar to someone like Thomas Berdych or Robin Soderling, those type of players. That could land him a major title, or two.

However, Is that type of game enough to be a multiple grand slam champ and number 1 for hundreds of weeks? History suggests no but maybe Sinner can create his own history

 

Boy just won a slam and had amazing season with five titles so far including two masters. Haters already coming lol. Still a crowd fave. But i hope sinner become a great champions too. I love their matches and the shotmaking in their matches.

 

Maybe neither are the next big thing and we're looking at a decade of tennis monotony.

 

Why not both? Maybe even more, I hope we have more competition at the very top.

Sinner will never win Grand Slam at this rate. Perhaps few Masters 1000 titles are possible, but Grand Slam? Nah sorry.

It's not like Sinner isn't well versed in that regard either.

 

Sinner’s height will always give him the edge in serving over Alca but he must train & strengthen his body in the mold of a Felix in order to minimize persistent injuries.

 

I doubt Sinner will achieve as much as the start thinks he will. His pencil neck body won't hold against beasts like Alcaraz and Rune. He needs to gain weight and bulk up, which could slow down his speed, which is already quesionable. I see him going through a career like Berdich's.

 

Sinner is Berdych 2.0 with a worse game so he'll only start winning after faker leaves the scene. Only Alcaraz can beat faker, it's unfortunate for tennis that everyone else is choking even when they play the better tennis in the match.

 

Imagine if Med lost vs Faker at 2021 US Open final. Tards would have gone all wild, perhaps the wildest as they had ever been before.

Well, clearly they've turned out to be the next big thingS.

 

The last 8 grand slams taken and evenly split is certainly a testament to this.

 

Sinner coming back from RG to win Wimbledon is much bigger than Alcaraz coming back from Wimbledon to win USO because while Alcaraz already won a USO title, Sinner was widely derided and mocked for his lack of grass titles/success despite the obvious signs. I was proved right when almost everyone on MTF doubted him.

And now they doubt him again. Feel free to sleep on Sinner again while he cooks up a training regime with his team to improve big time in the coming months.
