Djokovic was not on one leg in Australia early this year. He faked an injury after losing the first set, as he often does, and then the young Alcaraz lost concentration and never played the same level as in the first set. Alcaraz learnt a few weeks ago in New York and he destroyed Djokovic in 3 sets.
Yeah, that's why he retired against Zverev next. The first time since 2007 in the SF of Slam, where he is the GOAT
Sounds legit

I get that he's 38 and Sincaraz have improved significantly, but just only 2 years ago he won 3 GS and Turin, and a gold medal last year. How can someone body and endurance fall off that quick.

The way the tournament went it's not surprising. Hopefully Medvedev can step up but I won't hold my breath. This tournament made V's career

Congrats Vacherot!!!! Keep it going mate.. Great run & great composure.

Like Atmane some time back cashing in on his run I hope it brings more inspiration to others to follow suit.

As for Djokovic,he was there for the taking against Hanfmann & was basically like milk 3 days after it's expiration date this tournament... All the trials & tribulations & drama & constant medical timeout is just dragging on.

He can expect more of this if he even thinks about boxing on in 2026.

At some point, the decline becomes gradual.
Last season, he had a similar match against Cerundolo at Roland Garros. Also played through injury, and was on the verge of losing the match. But once he saw Cerundolo choking at the end of the 4th, he stepped up. Here, he had a sure opener for a comeback when Vacherot was serving for the match. But he just couldn't step up

Djokovic with plenty of antics and theatre and only 9 winners in the entire match.

Glorious result for Vacherot! Lowest-ranked player to ever reach a Master's final. Up to #58 in the live ranking. Could be a matchup against his cousin Rinderknech in the final, should the latter beat Medvedev.
Yup... if you're calling for the trainer early in the first set & don't feel up for it then just belt your groundies then.

He can do it as he's done it before instead of moping about & just flinging it back.

It looks like it has something to do with conditions. Very humid and it plays havoc with a stamina of much younger players: Sinner, etc. So I'm not convinced that this was a sign of the perpetual decline of Djokovic.

Ignoring Shanghai aside he called for the trainer & was panting at the US OPEN as well... and then to his words 'ran out of gas' after the 2nd set against Alcaraz.

At Wimbledon he bumbled about against Muller,De Minaur & Cobolli where once again he was just ill at ease and then hurts himself against Cobolli.

Hurkacz had him until the 11th hour in Geneva where Djokovic couldn't break him for over 2.5 hours and luckily pulled that one out.

Question: When was the last time Djokovic played a tournament where he a) Felt Great b) Played Great c) Didn't tire D) Didn't call for the trainer once at all e) Didn't have some sort of niggling injury during the tournament?

All so tiring... Running on fumes & like a car that's reached the stage of needing to be traded in.

:smash::smash::smash:You are going full retard fedtard recently, old habits never die.
No,as a sports enthusiast I'm calling it as it is & being consistent about it.

When Fed went through this I made my observations.

Likewise with Nadal during his painful 2024 year where every match was a massive battle for him (Apart from Darwin Blanch.. LOL)

Same for Murray when he kept blowing matches and running out of gas.

And I've done the same for Wawrinka in the last 2 years as well.

When it's time.... it's time..

I repeatedly said over the years many times over that my prediction that the Big 3 won't retire.... but 'be made to retire' with their bodies breaking down on them.

Am I wrong?? If so,please state how?

Only hardcore tards deny the painful inevitable.

I think it's time
Throughout the whole year, Djokovic had exactly one good tournament, where he was both good mentally and physically, Roland Garros.
Unless he does some magic to his body and brain, it will get only worse.

Vacherot is a generic mug, just like his cousin Rinderknech; nothing interesting or great about his game.
He seriously need to hit 'em with the Hola a todos™
