In fairness, the conditions during this tournament were brutal. Hence the weird results. Players were literally dropping like flies all week. I was more upset about the Miami finals. What's him calling it a season going to help? He's already making large breaks in between tournaments and he still struggles physically.
He'll play all 4 Slams next year, I believe, or maybe skips Roland GarrosI think next year should be Djokovic's last, but it has nothing to do with this match. This year showed us even Djokovic's current best isn't enough to win Slams against Sinner and Alcaraz and it's a difficult task to win a Masters title even in their absence. So he should take care of his priorities and chase what he can still chase: one additional hard court title (even an ATP 250 title will do) to break the tie with Federer and the match wins records at the Australian Open and Wimbledon - if he can play half as well at next year's Australian Open and Wimbledon as he did this year he'll either equal these records or break them.
Think you’re underestimating the cumulative effect of the brutal conditions.Still a huge upset considering Djokovic on one leg beat Alcaraz at a slam this year and that he once suffered a heatstroke and still beat Alcaraz in that M1000.
Could barely walk, injured.
Thats up to him to decide. I think most fans felt the perfect time to retire were the Olympics last year yet I am excited to watch any match I possibly can of him including exhibitions.Couldn’t have had a better chance to win a tournament without Sincaraz, only this time his body defeated him. At this point, is it even worth all the effort?
Djokovic was not on one leg in Australia early this year. He faked an injury after losing the first set, as he often does, and then the young Alcaraz lost concentration and never played the same level as in the first set. Alcaraz learnt a few weeks ago in New York and he destroyed Djokovic in 3 sets.Still a huge upset considering Djokovic on one leg beat Alcaraz at a slam this year and that he once suffered a heatstroke and still beat Alcaraz in that M1000.

Not really. Sinner beat Alcaraz in Wimbledon, because he was far better than him.Undefeated when not losing concentration![]()
🤦 You do realize that a grand slam is played over 5 sets and if you believe Alcaraz could “lose concentration” for that long because of Novak faking an injury, you’re insulting Alcaraz.Djokovic was not on one leg in Australia early this year.
