Hahahahahah, it's interesting to read Fedtard's outbursts of hate.

Since their idol could not do anything to Novak, they look for consolation in Vacherot:ROFLMAO:

They really care that Novak does not overtake Federer in the number of titles. :rotfl:

Novak

Novak Djokovic did not want to speak about his physical issues after his loss to Vacherot, ‘I want to congratulate Valentin… Going from qualifications, it's an amazing story… it’s all about him’ “How do you feel after this match, how much did you risk to continue, and can I just ask you maybe next week you will just rest or you think to go to Arabia?” Novak: “I want to congratulate Valentin for reaching his first Masters final. Going from qualifications, it's an amazing story. I told him at the net that he's had an amazing tournament, but more so his attitude is very good, and his game was amazing as well. So it's all about him. I wish him all the best in the finals, and the better player won today.” “Can you talk about your physical condition?” Novak: “No. Next question, please.”

Really sad to watch a legend play that bad in serious decline. This version of Djokovic is only 35% of peak Djokovic.

MTF Tennis experts that claim VV is the next big thing at 27 with 0 titles in the bag are..... (I refrain from using the words as they are bannable offenses)

At some point, the decline becomes gradual.
Last season, he had a similar match against Cerundolo at Roland Garros. Also played through injury, and was on the verge of losing the match. But once he saw Cerundolo choking at the end of the 4th, he stepped up. Here, he had a sure opener for a comeback when Vacherot was serving for the match. But he just couldn't step up
As they say, slowly, then all at once.

On TF, almost every time any player plays a poor match, there are calls for her to retire. So I'm used to seeing those words used in very silly contexts.
But this time, with 38-year-old Nole, that call actually makes sense. Still, he has to get there himself. It seems like in his head he still pictures himself achieving more great things before he bows out, at least if somehow JS and CA aren't in the picture. Maybe he's right, maybe he's wrong, but the guy has to figure it out for himself. Retire whenever you decide to, Nole. I have never been a fan of his, to say the least, but after all he's achieved, I respect whatever decision he makes about how long to play, even if he keeps falling short of his dreams and his decline is painful for his fans to watch.

No,as a sports enthusiast I'm calling it as it is & being consistent about it.

When Fed went through this I made my observations.

Likewise with Nadal during his painful 2024 year where every match was a massive battle for him (Apart from Darwin Blanch.. LOL)

Same for Murray when he kept blowing matches and running out of gas.

And I've done the same for Wawrinka in the last 2 years as well.

When it's time.... it's time..

I repeatedly said over the years many times over that my prediction that the Big 3 won't retire.... but 'be made to retire' with their bodies breaking down on them.

Am I wrong?? If so,please state how?

Only hardcore tards deny the painful inevitable.
As a sports enthusiast, you should understand Djokovic's motivation to continue playing this match until the very end, even not at 100%.
Had he rebreak Vacherot (and he had a chance for it), he would likely somehow make it to the third, where Vacherot could start feeling his legs, too.
It's not like Novak will have a better chance to win a big title ever again. So he decided to try. He knew he had only Shanghai and Athens until AO, so he wanted to use any tiny chance in this match. I think he realizes that the next AO is his final shot for Slam, even if it's very slim. And Shanghai could have been his last chance for MS.

It looks like it has something to do with conditions. Very humid and it plays havoc with a stamina of much younger players: Sinner, etc. So I'm not convinced that this was a sign of the perpetual decline of Djokovic.
He gets injured in almost every tournament. He retired at AO against Zverev (also had an MTO against Alcaraz), he was supposedly injured against Sinner at WB, I believe that he had MTOs at USO (e.g. vs Norrie) and FO (e.g. vs Moutet). Djokovic also took an MTO in his final against Mensik, and probably numerous others.

I do.

As I also understood Fed's motivation to keep playing.... and Rafa's.... and Murray's and so on and so on.

I'm not trying to anger you or other fans of Novak & be a deliberate harbinger of doom but merely state the facts on what's transpired exponentially in his matches this year with more medical timeouts, more injuries & ailments than ever.

The miles have caught up to him.Now if he wants to kick on- then more power to him & that's his right.

However,it's also mine to point out.. and to his fans also.. that they should then expect a decline in results they reaaaaalllly won't like... nor expect in their minds.

You want him to kick on in 2026? Ok... but don't be sad, frustrated or angry if/when loses 2nd/3rd round 'possibly' in some of these slams as that's what happens when you play into the year you turn 39.

What else would you expect? Somebody has to be the voice of reason and address that.

Personally,my last memory of him playing a slam would be to reminisce how he made the semi's at aged 38................... not getting dumped by an unheralded player in the 2nd or 3rd round.

What say you?

My gosh Djokovic has destroyed you losers. I mean if you're coming to gloat and call him a douchebag (when he was clearly injured), and making jokes about a Masters 1000 SF loss when he's 38 then it shows all those spankings he gave to your heroes has fried your brains. Man Fedal fans are insufferable. Makes me so happy Djokovic destroyed them and all the records, just so I can hear you cry daily. It's what you deserved.

Exactly!

Yet pointing out that fact seems to anger some people here when they should use their head & logic... not the heart,or emotion.

These players have earned their right to retire when they want. Fans should not have any say in the matter.

Djokovic hasn't won a slam in a couple of years, is showing signs of fragility to journeymen and looks done. However he is still making last 4 of slams with ease.

I predict he will retire when completely unable to compete in slams. No point retiring now and sitting at home or in a commentary boot wondering if he could still beat the player he is watching.

Sinneraz better beware. Lol at Vacherot doing what Rune, Tiafoe and the rest of the NextPastgen clowns and loudmouths brigade still cannot do.

I do.

As long as he plays top-10 tennis and he is not crippled like Fedal, he can continue.
I liked the way Agassi retired, announcing his last tournament and beating a top-10 player in 5 sets, even though his body was already destroyed.
He had more balls than Pusspras, who artificially made his US Open 2002 as "retiring as a champion".

Djokovic looks done once and for all. The Father Time catched him. He really should do a farewell tour in 2026. He has nothing to prove anymore.

But his season remain remarkable, reaching the SF in all GS and still remaining a top 5 player at 38 y.o.
