but also Steve Denton who supported me a lot at the beginning of my career when we were training hard in Texas.

Indeed, Denton knew how to reach the final of a tournament even at a very low rank... not the lowest event, though, even if it was an AO from the early 80s. (even twice 81-82)

However, it's nice to quote him here and now. 😌

What's him calling it a season going to help? He's already making large breaks in between tournaments and he still struggles physically.
I think that can be partially the reason why. His match conditioning is off.

Can he just retire? What's the point of keeping playing when physically he can no longer do that? Struggling and being injured in every match I watched him play these days. Cannot remember the last time he actually looked healthy and fresh. And this is BO3 and he has a day off in between.
Sorry but it's normal when he has 38+ years. What is not normal is him still making masters and slam sfs

Federer was winning titles and making Slam Finals and semifinals at the same age. In the women's side, Serena Williams and Navratilova were making Slam Finals at 38 too.

Djokovic's level is remarkable for his age but I wouldn't say "not normal". Other greats of the game have shown longevity as well.

Bye, bye POS 😅

Kinda hard to watch Djokovic flailing like this. It's a point now where his body / injuries have caught up with him. He can't get in form because he doesn't play nearly / frequently enough to gain momentum. But if he does even a bit, his body and fitness, having accrued the mileage it has at this point in his career, simply doesn't hold up.

That he somehow hasn't been beat in Slams this year (not even sure if the AO SF should count) apart from Sincaraz is mind boggling tbh.

It got pretty bad for Roger in his last years (I think 2019 was an insane outlier), never fun to see legends go through that at the end so commiserations to sane Djokofans, but it's part of the sport unfortunately.

Oh god as a massive fan of him for 18 years, I'm so sick of watching him playing while injured so much and all the time like this. While watching this match, I was like "that's it, that's really enough". I have already accepted the fact that he would not win any slam or big title again, so please Novak, make it next year your last. Don't torture yourself and your body any longer.
And you`re asking for another year...!
