Federer, much like Djokovic although not to the same extent, just leads Nadal in so many categories that saying Nadal has a better career with 2 more Slams is doing Federer an injustice.
True. I guess it's splitting hairs between 2 or 3 slams but I agree. Federer just leads in so many other important areas....and by quite a margin. Although I do give Nadal credit for the Masters edge, but again....it's very clay-heavy.

Nadal has 20 slams, Olympics Gold and 10-7 and 10-4 vs Fedovic in slams. He can go to bed knowing that he is the goat. Federer with his silver medal and losing slam h2h record against both of his rivals can’t be called the goat.

Right now clearly Federer. One more slam by Rafa and it becomes arguable for either case. Two more and Rafa is clearly ahead. No amount of weeks at #1 or YECs can make up for a two slam difference, surface heavy or not. This holds for any of the big 3 vs the other two.

With the GOAThood of Djokovic inevitable, it comes down to the fight for second place between Nadal and Federer. Who has the upper hand right now? And what needs to happen for the ranking to shift?

Everybody knows I'm the most unbiased poster in MTF, but for once, I'll just provide the numbers and shut the fuck up.

Federer have better carrere still. Roger looks more complete player. Clay is no his surface and never was but he is better on other TWO surface.

But still we must say Rafael is best player on clay EVER (in past or future).

Keep in mind that MS can be random and change.

hard indoor isn't Nadal's best surface either, but he won Madrid indoor 2005 anyway.

As clay is not Murray's best surface but he still won Madrid and Rome ... while he had never won a clay title before ... Munich atp 250 2015 ..
Murray also won Madrid ind 2008 when he had no more opportunity at his age to win an MS than Djokovic, who had already won 2 MS hard (Miami-Canada) in 2007.

Like Federer won Hamburg / Madrid clay (like Nadal) and Murray Madrid ind / Shanghai (like Federer).
