I'm somewhat shocked based on the names of the lineup on paper!! However, Team World has won 3 of the past 4 editions after Team Europe won the first 4, a big reason being no more Rogie and Rafa...
Yes, it is an exhibition tournament, it is what it is. ATP'250 and 500 are classes above this useless tournament. Players just go there and grab the high salary they get - that's all.Laver Cup is in fact NOT an exhibition, though your second phrase is correct, but for top players, ATP 250s or even 500s tell us nothing about those "real" matches either.
No, it is not an exhibition tournament, these are official ATP record matches, it is what it is. Denying this scientific fact shown by numbers from the sport's governing body constitutes trolling.Yes, it is an exhibition tournament, it is what it is. Yes, it is. Players signed for it knowing it. There are no points, no obligations to participate, nothing. Just the money. It is no ITF or ATP event. They gave enough money obviously to ATP to include the matches as head-to-heads but the tournament is an invitational event not part of the competition in the season. This is the scientific fact that you are denying. I suppose when the Six Kings pay the money to the ATP as well then their.matches will be also included in the ATP "records"...No, it is not an exhibition tournament, these are official ATP record matches, it is what it is. Your dislike of it doesn't make your statement true.
Are you fucking kidding me? I work with official broadcast tennis data. The amount of stats that are fed into servers for this "exhibition" event is astounding. You are too focused on your tard notions to see the bloody truth. If something goes into the official H2H of the governing bodies of a sport, that makes that event official. Laver Cup is not the only event like this, Ryder Cup in golf is also an official event without ranking points on offer.Yes, it is. Players signed for it knowing it. It won't erase though the biggest fact of all - those tournaments are just entertainment exhibitions, useless in my eyes, funny in the eyes of others.
Man, you are the tard here, not me. I couldn't care less about this event. It is not a ITF or ATP event, is it? Then what is left for it to be? Demo - you can call it official or not, doesn't matter, it doesn't change the character of the event - official exhibition entertainment tournament. In comparison Davis cup is an ITF event. Are you fucking kidding me? I work with official broadcast tennis data. For tennis it's simple. Since 1973, any event can register to be included in the official ATP tally. If 6 Kings Slam gets accepted, it is included. Nowadays, there is one tour only, but rival tours may coexist and they can register their official status with the ATP, like before 1990, when multiple such tours existed. In Golf, there are many tours, and even Liv Golf registered and is pending approval.
Laver Cup is literally an official ATP event. You may disagree with ATP's decision to designate one as such a few years ago but it is what it is.Man, you are the tard here, not me. I couldn't care less about this event. It is not a ITF or ATP event, is it?
Europe has players you would expect to go undefeated, at least if taking the matches seriously. Not getting them in the line-up matters more than having to replace lower ranked players. How is Europe affected more? World has way fewer adequate substitutes to the top 6-7 players imo
Who owns the Laver Cup is just like any tournament on the tour. ATP owns very little on the tour, just owns the Finals and co-owns United Cup, the rest are AFFILIATED (REGISTERED) with the tour. Private entities OWN these tournaments, like how Tiriac used to own Madrid Open. TEAM8, some Brazilian mogul and Tennis Australia (the official tennis governing body in Australia) own the Laver Cup. Just like the rest of the tour, they are AFFILIATED to the ATP. They don't have a category, but that means shit.Man, you are the tard here, not me. I couldn't care less about this event. Who called it an ATP event, del pelican? See above, read, use all your brain cells to understand, then kindly butt off somewhere else you can troll. What a surprise, two biggest atp stenographers here calling it atp tournament🤣🤣

Agree. Good pointEurope has players you would expect to go undefeated, at least if taking the matches seriously. Not getting them in the line-up matters more than having to replace lower ranked players.
It is sanctioned by ATP but it is not part of the official ATP tour - that is an obvious fact. The decision by ATP is scandalous and you can see it in the Monfils - Felix match a few years ago - one said is playing an exhibition, the other asked the umpire what rules they are following - the umpire didn't know the answer - that says it all. A tournament which is not part of the competition, it is not entered by players according to their rankings is not comparable to real competitive tournament - as simple as that.Laver Cup is literally an official ATP event. You may disagree with ATP's decision to designate one as such a few years ago but it is what it is.
I don't think so. It will "die" the moment Federer is not in the stands. It's a personal event after all.As far as prestige of a tournament and caring about it, these things will fluctuate over time. That's almost the point of why Federer started the event; he knew it would take time to build the tradition and fan interest, but eventually tennis would have its own Ryder Cup. And if you live long enough, there will actually be a day when the Laver Cup is as popular as the Ryder Cup, as hard as that is to believe today.
Total waste of time...What a surprise, two biggest atp stenographers here calling it atp tournament🤣🤣

Indeed. One needs to go back to school first before they can understand how professional sport works.Total waste of time...
