No one left in the tournament has had such a joke of a draw as Tommy Paul has this tournament getting qualifiers, scrubs and journeymen all the way to the QFs. He is going to be in for a rude awakening now though since Tiley cant put him in Sheltons quarter for an easier match and he is gonna get cleaned up by Zverev in 3 or 4 next round.

Is this the first time in history that someone gets a good draw? Fritz and Zverev get cakewalk draws all the time and no one makes a peep.

Also he’s 2-0 against Zverev. Not saying he’s the favorite but to completely dismiss his chances there is irrational.

 

After what I feel underachieving due to inconsistency (mostly mentally IMO) Paul finally breaks the Top 10 after for long!

 

Was ADF injured? I know he was tired from the previous few rounds, but seeing a three breadstick performance is quite shocking.

 

Yeah he slipped over in the first set and hurt his hip and never really recovered

ADF often clowns too much in early rounds and can't sustain his efforts. He called a trainer apparently? Anyway, first player to come back from 0-2 sets in back-to-back matches at AO in 20 years.

Tommy didn't face top 50 to the quarters but I think he has a chance against Zverev. Anything can happen.

 

Absolutely clinical performance by Paul. I haven't seen one player being as clueless in the match as ADF was in this one. But I agree with few people that he was a joke in this match.

 

Didn't watch, but a mighty impressive scoreline 👀. Humbert already took a set from Z and is currently still going toe to toe. Could TP continue his run here...
