Withdrawals/walkovers in Buenos Aires:
Passaro withdrew after coming through qualifying (illness).
Musetti walkover in QF (R calf injury)

Walkovers/retirements in Delray Beach:
Nishioka walkover in R2 (L shoulder injury again)
Mmoh retirement (possibly glute?)

Withdrawals/retirements in Marseille:
Perricard withdrew (illness)
Zhang retired in QF (possibly illness?)
Ngl, I don't miss GMP. Something about his servebotting / game lacks charisma.

What's going on with Filial? Not interested in filler 250 events? Won two 500s last year.
Fils? He has withdrawn from Doha next week, so probably something is still bothering him. Hopefully nothing too serious. He is on the entry list for Dubai and IW.

EDIT: Reported that Fils withdrew from Marseille and Doha with a L thigh injury, so a different injury to the ankle injury he suffered at the AO.

wekll you dont withdraw or retire on a slam thinking of iw and miami
I was thinking post-AO. Also, how many of these injurious circumspects would you reckon as silencio bananas?

Retirements/walkovers in Doha
Medjedovic walkover in R2 (R hamstring injury while doing splits against Tsitsipas in R1).
Medvedev retired from QF after losing the 1st set (said afterwards he had food poisoning).

Retirements in Rio
Hugo Dellien retired in R1 (?L hamstring).

Withdrawals
Nagal withdrew from Rio (possibly continuing back issue but not sure).
Thompson withdrew from Dubai and Passaro withdrew from Santiago (presumably continuing problems with foot injury and illness respectively).
Korda withdrew from Acapulco, after also withdrawing from Montpelier and Rotterdam (something's up, is it the elbow again or something else?)
Fritz withdrew from Acapulco (abdominal injury since the week before Dallas, has put the blame on the AO balls).
Hurkacz and Opelka also withdrew from Acapulco (no reason given).

Opelka also withdrew from Acapulco (no reason given).
Opelican's already practicing & posting from IW. Probably wanted to save his body & not waste his limited PR admits on a filler 500 event now that he's showing promising form since returning. Smartly saved it for IW.

Honestly, idk if Shelton should've played Aquípulco, but I know he has QF points to defend & his dad played there. At some point, though, I do anticipate him giving that event up if he ever envisions winning during the Sunshine swing.

UPDATE: Draper has withdrawn from Dubai to prioritise recovery after his run in Doha the week before.
Jack Draper has withdrawn from Dubai

Acapulco used to be even slower than IW, that's cancer for guys like Shelton and Opelka, they are better off not playing it.

I actually think that slow high-bouncing HC is not bad for players like Shelton and Opelka, they need time to unload their big swings. Maybe their ceiling won't be too high on these courts, but making a solid QF/SF run isn't difficult.

Shelton is a bit more versatile but such courts really expose their rally tolerance. These guys have never really done anything significant on slow clay conditions.

Exactly! It's slow and bouncy. What's the point. Don't waste your energy. The real reason Serena boycotted IW is because it was slow & involves altitude. Two things annoying to her game. Better off getting $1M from Miami.

Well Opelka did have that freak Rome SF run:p But clay is another story as American players simply don't know how to move on clay, slow HC is okay and Shelton was able to make it competitive against Sinner for a set at IW last year. You can say that it takes too much energy for them, but at least for Shelton he's in his prime and looks like he could play forever physically, I don't think he's reached the stage to only focus on certain tournaments until he improves his overall consistency.

Retirements/walkovers in Dubai and Acapulco
Dimitrov retired 0-6 down with ‘fatigue’ in R1 in Dubai (his 3rd retirement from 4 tournaments so far this year).
Walkovers from Ruud and Paul in R2 in Acapulco and a retirement from Rune 0-3 down in R2 in Acapulco (stomach bug going around).

Withdrawals from tournaments this week
Musetti was a late withdrawal from Acapulco (presumably still the calf injury).
Jarry withdrew from IW (suffered injury to L toe in Santiago).
Kokkinakis withdrew from IW (announced he has had recent surgery for a pectoral injury).
Nishioka and Opelka also withdrew from IW, and Medjedovic and Pouille withdrew from IW qualies. (No reason given by Opelka; presumably still the shoulder for Nishioka, hamstring injury for Medjedovic and Achilles for Pouille).

EDIT: Opelka is playing Indian Wells!

Oh no! Rally Opeltya withdrew. Shame. Still, I enjoy his art posts.

Opelka actually got the WC and therefore withdrew his original protected ranking entry, he's still playing.
