Sinner dominates hards most of the time. Yet Alcaraz has completely tore him apart on hards for almost his entire career there . Something is very weird there that needs to be fixed or Sinner is gonna end up in his "Federer hole" to where Fed let Nadal overtake him on hardcourts too. and inevitably overtake him in the GOAT race. If you protect your backyard where you are the best, generally you keep your ATG status going. Thats what Nadal did on clay, thats what Djoker did overrall against Nadal on hards/grass , thats what Pete did against Andre the 2nd half of the season. Sinner isn't doing that. He's letting Alcaraz control/own his backyard

This didn't just occur. Alcaraz has been doing this to sinner since 2022. Not good if you're in the Sinner camp. He needs to be bring a new team ASAP and they need to get to work

I am very disappointed with Sinner. 48% first serve is not serious. Sinner needs to get stronger a little. Alcaraz played perhaps his best tournament of his life. This boy has an exceptional future. Congratulations to his fans. I hope that next year Sinner will raise his level and start winning these duels with Carlos.

Sinner´s game is still not perfect, his mentality is top notch but Alcaraz is a tad above at the moment, Sinner´s serve doesn´t seem to do enough damage, I hope this relationship do not lean too far to Carlos side because it coud make Alcaraz win many many slams in short period considering how useless the rest of the field is against both of them.

we will see when alca wins with sinner serving 80% , again 48% it is not so impressive

Well, not much for me to say here apart from: Congrats to all Alca fans out there! He almost did 40-15, but eventually won.
NO!
Sinner tanked the match, I'm telling you!
Sinner could've easily finished that Luckaraz in straight sets, but chose not to out of empathy.
This match was BY FAR the biggest upset in sports history! Alcaraz did NOT win this legitimately. In fact, Alcaraz has not won a single legit, non-asterisked Slam this season.
Sinner >> Alcaraz any day

Alcaraz really proved everyone why his new serve is so effective, his aggressive ground game also supreme, also on a faster hardcourt.
With the matchup advantage, and this newly improved serve there was no question mark who would win his final.
(even through I slept through most of 3rd-4th sets, since accumulated fatigue has put me to sleep, I awoke when Sinner started to speak at the victory ceremony)

Sinner was suprisingly flat and apart from 2nd set, his serving and groundgame were in big trouble today. Maybe he awasn't at this physical best as well, it felt that way.
Anyway, this feels like Djoker's 2011 win against Nadal ini that final.
Proud to be an Alcaraz fan. Very special moment.

Also very good victory speeches by both players. Congrats to Sinner for acknowledging Alcaraz's greatness, and putting it into right, this time fitting (and not boring! – which i an improvement for him after many boring speeches) phrases. Very simple ones actually ("this is a special moment" – it is indeed, to have 6 slams already at the age 22y 4m!!!).
I thoroughly enjoyed this tournament. Very happy inside, but wish Top 20 would be stronger to have many more competitive matches, not just in semis and finals.

Yes, great play from Alcaraz. I did not expect he'd win this easily on hard court. He just over-powered Sinner, and made Sinner go more for his shots than he normally would. Well played, well deserved by Alcaraz.

What is the Fed curse?
There's no Federer curse.

It's just that the US Open hasn't been defended since 2008, so 17 years, now.

It's like I saying the "Borg curse", because no one can win a Grand Slam more than five times in a row... even Nadal at RG.

And even since the Big 3, Sinner and Carlos have already defended the other three.
Sinner AO 24-25
Carlos RG 24-25 and Wimb 23-24.

And it was pretty recent everywhere last time
AO Djoko 20-21
RG Nadal 19-20
Wimb Djoko 21-22
except... US Open. 07-08

Only the US Open is still holding out.

AO Agassi 00-01, Federer did it in 06-07, 6 years later.
RG Kuerten 00-01, Nadal 05-06, 5 years later.
Wimb Sampras 99-00, Fed 03-04, 4 years later.
US Open Rafter 97-98, Fed 04-05, 7 years later.

Imo, Sinner should take some time off and work with his team on his service and the approach on how to play against Alca. I would say a few weeks off should help in this case. But at the same time, it doesn't necessarilly have to help.
Agree with the goal but I think he should actually bring IN someone to work on the serve, why not Ivanisevic.
