To be fair because of huge appearance fee they played seriously last time.
Winner got something like 6 million.
Your point about Abu Dhabi correct.players like Novak and others used that exho for AO preparation(skipping real warm ups).thats why it was serious
Yes. And minimum 1 Millionen to be there..I understand everyone who take that money. It is to much.

Weird concept this time. With the scribbles on the faces and bodies. The Six Mumble Rappers Slam. Lil Friz, Lil Z, Lil Raz, Lil Djok, Lil Sin and Lil Drapes. I wonder where they'll go with this / what this will be about once they reveal the trailer.

That nearly guarantees that none of them will play Basel or Vienna even if they are on an entry list.

At least we have Shelton, Rune confirmed. Fritz is on the list but I am unsure after seeing this now.

They seem to have gone to some effort to ensure that none of these players actually look like themselves 😂

Djokovic, Alcaraz, Sinner and Zverev do very much look like themselves.

You're on point regarding Sitz and Frinner though. Long-lost twins.

With all the money they use for the prize, they did not have enough money to count how many slam each of the players won thus far! Djokovic and Alcaraz have number 24 and 5 on their cheeks. But so does Sinner, who should most likely have 4. Seems like a super jinx in view of the US Open!

BTW, there is literally no way to motivate players to go to play the ATP500 instead of this. The penalty for not playing enough 500s is much lower than the money they win even just participating into this, let alone winning it all. And they have to play a maximum of 2 or 3 matches.

Novak for years (since 2011)didn't play enough tournaments.didn't care about penalties, because he was so far ahead points wise.

Yes, point wise also often negligible the impact of a single 500. But I was mainly thinking in terms of money. I think if you top the ATP500 ranking at the end of the year you are entitled to a bonus of 1M$. Here you get 1,5M$ just for participating!
Last year, Sinner lost the chance to top the ATP500 ranking by missing Vienna in favour of six kings slam. In doing so he lost $300k. He won $6M...

The main question is who will be seeded (and will have a BYE in first round?)?
One of them must be Djokovic as for fame, stardom, status. For the other spot you could say it must be the reigning champion. Or you have to draw the player. There is no way you could pick ONE of Sinner/Alcaraz and NOT THE OTHER without a rule to apply. When Djokovic will be retired, they could be inclined to seed No.1 and reigning Chamion (for example).

What do you think?

Either Djokovic and Sinner (the biggest legend and the reigning champ) or Alcaraz and Sinner (the #1 and #2 players in the world and the new two best players; winners of the last 7 slams).

They used to play Abu Dhabi for years(less money),and i didn't hear alot of whinning back then.
Maybe because Novak and other players used that exho as AO preparation.

Wouldn't surprise if Draper gets injured in the leadup to it & doesn't play,or missing tournaments through 'injury' just to be 'ready' for this & plays that & then misses events subsquently thereafter.

One of those things you put in your calendar to make it to the dance..... and then whine afterwards how the tour is unfair with its scheduling.

If the poster wasn't just randomly AI generated, then it could also indicate the seeds will be Djoker and Alcaraz, as the players with the highest slam tally.
