Really entertaining match, Moutet was peaking to win 7 straight games from 2-4 in the first set but Tien was more calm and made less errors throughout the match.

I don't think Moutet played poorly. Tien is the better player on hard court. Tien's game is also good at playing against lefties, especially who doesn't have big power as he runs fast and has a very consistent forehand. So Moutet can only get many points when Tien is unfocused due to his fatigue. Moutet lost with a 6-3 *3-0 start not because his choke, Tien just threw these games.

Great resilience from the new Nadal in his first couple of matches in Shanghai after a demanding week in Beijing. I really expected him to get eliminated in one of the first couple of rounds, but he will now face Norrie for a place in the 4th round (and with the way Norrie looked against Flukazaux today the new Nadal may actually be the favourite to win this match).
Quarantine losing from a set and a double break up isn't very surprising when we recall what a big clown he really is.

New Nadal is waiting to take out Pusherdev or ATPrev
