I mean it has to be destiny right? To be fair Rinderknech had a good run in Beijing too so it isn't too surprising, but he surely was the underdog in the past 2 matches IMO. Rinderknech's serving was top tier and he wasn't afraid to be aggressive. However I think FAA was just kinda B-level today and didn't punish Rinderknech in the rallies IMO.

I think Vacherot and Rinderknech are feeding off each other and I think the belief that they can genuinely both reach the Final is what's making their confidence high IMO. I don't think there's pressure because they aren't expected to be here, but are driven with a fairytale dream of being under Top 30 players that somehow peaked at the same time to produce some of the best tennis story of the century maybe :oh:. Just like Karatsev it would be hard to imagine that Djokovic would lose to someone not experienced at this level like Vacherot but Djokovic isn't titanium anymore so who knows. I think Rinderknech is a 40:60 underdog against Medvedev IMO but he has a decent chance to reach the dream maiden Masters Final here.

Musetti isn’t their cousin but he’ll be celebrating his fair share for sure

closer and closer to Turin…

I just watched the highlights of Rinderknech vs FAA and I’m quite moved with Arthur’s forehand, it’s so clean and compact, it’s flat and it stays low. I just really like the way it looks. I hope he wins Shanghai. I also liked his serve and how he used droppers to beat FAA.

His movement and backhand are average but I like how clean the FH looks. Watching Vacherot highlights and his game doesn’t appeal that much. He’s more of a power baseliner and I don’t find his technique too appealing and he’s one dimensional, while Arthur is like an all courter

Nonetheless, I hope the final we get is between the 2 cousins as it’d feel like a fairy tale story. Medvedev and Djokovic will probably win but it would be such a nice final if those 2 won instead.
