How many Wimbledons would Lendl have won between 2003 and 2010?

Lendl in the 1980s made 2 Wimbledon Finals, and 5 Wimbledon Semis. That was in a far tougher era of grasscourters, and with racquets which don't suit his game as much as today's racquets do. It's been said before that Lendl is the 1980s version of Federer. How many Wimbledon's would Lendl have won in this era?

quite a few from the 80s followers do believe that........i have come across several fans from other boards as well holding that view........fed is pretty much like how lendl was in the 80s.......basically a baseliner who is also adaptable at the net, not a natural volleyer but can get the job done.......

by the way this is an interesting thread, i will post my opinion in this later........

Lendl would win Australian Open 08 & 09, Roland Garros 05, 06, 07, 08 & 10, Wimbledon 08 & 10 & US Open 10.

Pretty sure of that.

Federer didn't have over 8 slams until USO 2006 so until then everyone on MTF would go 9 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> X.

Therefore Lendl would have been the default favorite for all the slams. So he would have won Wimbledon 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006.

In that case Fed would have only 4 so he'd win in 2007 as well, giving Lendl 5 more slams for a total of 14 and the career grand slam making him better than Pete.

Lendl is the GOAT.

Nil.

Both Federer and Nadal move much better on a grass court than Lendl.

Of course Federer and Rafa have much better records on grasscourt than Lendl..... but what does that say really?

Their only competition has been themselves, Murray (whom Rafa hasn't dropped a set to at Wimbledon in 2 meetings), and Roddick (Federer's favorite opponent). I have to question the quality of their opposition compared to Becker, Edberg, Mac, Connors, Cash, Wilander, etc.

And Lendl did make 2 Finals and additionally 5 Semi-finals. That is a lot of potential Wimbledon titles in an era like today. Not to mention the racquet technology that would benefit Lendl.

I thought Lendl's ground game was amazing to watch. I don't know why people called him "robotic" and "dull" and then turned around and called serve and volley style beautiful. In my mind tennis is about rallies, not 1-2 shots or aces.

Lendl was a bit of a choker - that was his biggest deficit

Other than that he ALREADY had a good enough game to win Wimbledon even back in his day as proven by his track record against very tough grass-masters of his day.

So then, a simple extrapolating would suggest that from 2003 to 2010 he would have reached the final even more times but win only part of those final matches
