Hewitt once lost to the eventual GS champion 7 consecutive times, is that the record?

that's frustrating
talking about what hurts the most

I was wondering what's the record for most loss to the eventual champion (doesn't have to be consecutive) at grand slams

This is including finals, am I right? I'm pretty sure Andy has high figures in this department.

Wimbledon 2008 - Nadal
US Open 2008 - Federer
Australia 2010 - Federer
Wimbledon 2010 - Nadal
Australia 2011 - Djokovic
Roland Garros 2011 - Nadal
Australia 2012 - Djokovic
Wimbledon 2012 - Federer
Australia 2013 - Djokovic
Roland Garros 2014 - Nadal
Australia 2015 - Djokovic

11 times, including the finals obviously. Five without, which is surprising. I thought it would be more but there you go.

Lendl equals Andy with finals alone though

Interesting stat for Andy Roddick - he lost seven times to Federer in slams that Federer won. Now that sounds like it might be a record.

EDIT: Djokovic lost to eventual champion Nadal eight times, including six times at Roland Garros. The Roddick stat is more depressing though since he only ended up with one slam.
