I don't know when Carlos committed to play in the 2023 Hopman Cup, whether it was before his 2022 US Open title or not.
However, the very recent Wimbledon 2023 title has further boosted the Hopman Cup's promotion with Carlos's presence.
And I found it remarkable that he honors and respects his commitment to the Hopman Cup, even though it would have been understandable if he had withdrawn a week after Wimbledon, or if he had tanked his matches, which he didn't do.
I think this aspect of such a young player, already a world star, made me definitely embrace and support him.
There is often a founding act in the support we give to a player, and this was a powerful one.
