Everyone keeps praising the "incredible current tennis era" but everyone praised the endless variety of opponents for Roger and Rafa from 2003 to 2009 (Roddick? Berdych? Tsonga?), and everyone praised how Sampras generously shared tennis in the 90s like a benevolent king (never won RG).
Listening to everyone here it seems like there’s too much talent, but in reality there isn’t: Fonseca, Fils, Mensik, and Engel (and maybe Kouame...) are still just names. The talent for the future isn’t actually guaranteed, but on this forum, if you even win a slam at 19 or early 20's, you’re already "the next GOAT."
It’s supposedly the era of Sinner and Carlos now, and it will be for at least another 2 years, but in my opinion, Fonseca will not be competitive for slams before 2027 and we know a healthy Dimitrov can still take down Sinner at WB.
Tomorrow will be the same era again.
