Just finished watching the match and I can't believe Tabilo could win more than 1 match, more so a tour level title, winning 7 matches in a row including qualies, while outclutching a Top 10 player (who just reached QF in the US Open) :eek2: . Tabilo was playing good like he was early last last year, good rally tolerance and good aggression. Musetti was playing solid but I agree could've been more aggressive with the FH. Musetti was VERY distraught in the trophy ceremony though probably feeling he didn't do much wrong (was 8 more points than Tabilo in the match, I think) yet losing another Final and against someone IMO who has been in horrible form on tour for this season.

Back-to-back Chengdu RUP... When will Lorenzo end the title drought?

Yeah, in the same year Ruud reached 2 slam finals and Kyrgios reached one, so I can give it a pass
Neither Kyrgios nor Ruud are terrible or mediocre players. Kyrgios was no 13 in the world in a very tough era and would have been a top ten player in 2022 had Wimbledon given ranking points. Ruud also made the Miami Open final, the Toronto semifinal and the Atp finals final that year. Ruud has also a masters title and has 3 masters finals and 9 masters semifinals. He in fact has a better record at masters events than many players regarded as better than by him by tennis fans or that are flat out better. In general the only real evidence that Ruud is this bad player is his critics's eye-test because otherwise he has many respectable achievements

There have been definitely worse slam finalists than both Ruud and Kyrgios. For example Verkerk got hot at Roland Garros in 2003 and had an impressive run to the final but he had a negative career win-loss record due to injury issues. His wins at Roland Garros that year were a significant percentage of his overall wins.

Musetti in need of two kinds of mental help

the first to make him realise that he needs mental help

the second the actual substantive help
