Sinner can cut the race difference to 1600 points assuming he wins Beijing and Shanghai. As Sinner is protecting 1000 points though, I think that he could reclaim #1 at Vienna if he wins Beijing, Vienna and Shanghai.

Well you dont know how much Money was behind that Exho, and probably sponsors, contract and business there too..

 

DOn't think Jannik will be playing all the tournaments he has put in his schedule for the moment (most likely will miss Vienna or Paris at least), so this shouldn't have any impact on number 1 from now to year end.

BUT, it could be very significant for first half of 2026, when Sinner will have 3 months to recover points over Alcaraz to regain #1 spot. Although it will still depend on how they fare in Australia. At the moment I see it 50-50 who will be ahead after Miami 2026.

Now we have a very tough 2nd half of the draw, and very easy 1st half, with plenty of opportunities for players to make a SF/F there

 

Indeed, the biggest play by Alcaraz here is him pitting Djoko in Sinner's half this time. I'm not sure if this is good or bad for Nole.

I think you're right but it's very disappointing the tour has ended this way. Paris is an actual tournament with reasonable prestige, it's insane to me that the top 2 are basically at a point where they sacrifice Paris for Turin even if they aren't actually injured.

 

Wise choice, even if is just a minor thing. Losing the points in Shanghai likely won't cost him year-end number one. Playing and aggravating things could cost a lot more.

 

These late season tournaments are tough for Alcaraz. I guess he is trying to get at 100% in Turim. Makes sense.

Why do you need 2 ankles to beat this tour? The third best player is a part time 50 year old man. Heck now is the time to vulture everything. In 3-4 years the tour won't possibly be this bad I wouldn't think
