Being a father at that age is a scary thought to me but congrats to the kid. Hope everything goes well with him.

Fascinating. Fritz wants to get more mature than any of his peers. Obviously each player may set his priorities, but you can't fault them if they go the untrodden way.

Seems he took up Djokovic's advice.
Novak's trying to eliminate his rivals before they reach prime. Well done!

Well, that's one way to increase your seeding.
Since nobody did it, i really want to give you i some Credit for that haha :D

Yeah gonna be interesting, defintely not easy for Tennis Players, most logical way seems to be getting Kids after your career if you are still under 35

Taylor's going to beat all Mick Jagger's records at this pace.

Incredible talent on and off the court.

Rogie Fatherer: Daughters are on the way, Roger wins RG and Wimbledon back to back, gets back to world number 1
Novak Popovic: Son is born, cleans up the tour and has his incredible 1.5 year run. Wins RG and NCYGS
Andy Dadray: Daughter is born, raises his level, gets to world number 1 and also has his best season.

Taylor Paparitz will win all four grand slams next year confirmed.

Seems the conventional wisdom has been completely shattered.

Whaaaa?!!! No way!!!!

I was wondering why a couple of teenagers would get engaged, plan their wedding, and then get married all in a span of one month during the busiest time of the tennis season.

If my math is correct, this just may be the answer to this mystery. It's all starting to make sense now.

Raquel goes on tour with him around the time of the Rome masters. (Totally geeked out about the Vatican since they are super catholic and all)

If my math is correct, it makes me wonder if this baby might have influenced the schedule of things.
super catholic and premarital sex?

Re: 18 year-old Taylor Fritz will be a father in January

i sincerely wish them both the best and i hope im wrong but i see this ending 1 of 2 ways:

1. the stress and responsibility becomes to much to handle and they get divorced. taylor continues to play on tour while maintaining a relationship with his child

2. taylor's career ends before it begins in tennis. he retires at some point next tear or at the end of the year and moves on to a more stable and reliable career to raise his child and support his family

$adly I think that thi$ is a modern ver$ion of an old $tory. $he married into hi$ mother'$ wealth and no matter what happen$ between her and Taylor Fritz $he and her baby are $et for life.

What wa$ that line about "18 year$"?

The only lo$er i$ the child.

It has a better chance of working out than most other teenage marriages in my opinion. At least they are set up well financially. Money is one of the biggest problems (not THE biggest) for young married couples, so this is more of a positive than a negative. People speculate too much. I don't know them nor can I predict the future.

Re: 18 year-old Taylor Fritz will be a father in January

No one seriously thinks that they're really going to be hands on parents right? There will be nannies. At 17 she's hardly ready to be a full time mother and she won't have to be. And as has been said he will have his tennis.

To the extent of Fritz buying a personal jet so he can fly back and catch his kids soccer game after tournaments and attend PTA meetings? Probably not. The life of a traveling tennis family is a bit alien to me. Ask Roger how they make it work.

Re: 18 year-old Taylor Fritz will be a father in January

She looks more like a 15 year old girl than a woman.

Nevertheless, Benjamin Becker has had children for a couple of years and achieved his career high ranking (n#35) two years ago (with 33 years of age) and is still playing on the Tour.

No need to think Taylor becoming a father is going to shorten his career.

Congratulations to the young couple! 0:)

This explains the wedding out of nowhere.

Best of luck to them.
