I know Thompson isn't exactly a clay GOAT but nice to see the former US Open Juniors winner back at Challenger level (won an ITF event as well before this). He was touted as the next big thing in China but got sidelined by an elbow injury for 2 years.

From set and break down! Amazing. Hope he can get back to his top level soon, I enjoyed seeing him playing those ATP Asia tournaments few years ago when he was a total unknown.
Yeah me too, I remember this match against Nishikori in Shanghai. Personally I think Wu has more potential than Shang than make it to the top, he's taller and has a better serve.

Still only 22, he can still have a good career. Apparently he was destroying the field on the domestic tour last year too.

You mean in China? I thought there were no tournaments there because of COVID?
There were no ATP events because China was closed off but there will still tournaments organised by the Chinese tennis association just for Chinese players.

Guys likes Zhang and Wu played. I heard Wu won some tournaments

Always a good result for humanity when the guy with a moustache of a 70s porn actor loses.

One of the few players I actually dislike, every time I watch him play he seems to have a bad attitude, arguing with the empire, throwing rackets etc. Not to mention that moustache...
He is a [email protected] player.

Just another hacker on tour. Not really sure how is he surviving financially.

Wu is 26 now. He changed his age so that he could get physically advantage in junior tournaments. This is very common in Chinese male athletes.
Sorry, Wu is 25 now.
Some Chinese famous poster said this. Wu was born in 1997, Wang Xiaofei is 2001, Buyun is 2000.
Zhang Zhizhen and Shang juncheng didn't changed their age. They are both son of Chinese NT players. Their birth date can be verified.
Really? ATP has him at 22 years old.

Surely if Wu is older then he should be stripped of his US Open junior title (and indeed, many other junior titles). It would mean he won his junior major when he was 20, not 17.
