India's 15 year old Yuki Bhambri won the Asia Oceania closed junior championships at New Delhi last week.

These are his results at the event :-

[R1] Yuki BHAMBRI (IND) (7) defeated Aashish RANA (IND) 6-0 6-0
[R2] Yuki BHAMBRI (IND) (7) defeated Ryoken MATSUI (JPN) 6-2 6-3
[R3] Yuki BHAMBRI (IND) (7) defeated Vijayant MALIK (IND) (11) 7-6(6) 6-7(1) 7-5
[QF] Yuki BHAMBRI (IND) (7) defeated Matt REID (AUS) (4) 6-4 3-6 6-3
[SF] Yuki BHAMBRI (IND) (7) defeated Hiroki MORIYA (JPN) (5) 7-6(6) 6-0
[F] Yuki BHAMBRI (IND) (7) defeated Di WU (CHN) 6-3 6-1

Superb effort by Yuki to win all the older players to claim the titles.

With that effort, Yuki moved to no. 35 in ITF junior rankings & is only the 2nd highest ranked player with 1992 birthdate behind Bernhad Tomic.

Yuki already has some sterling effort on mens tour including reaching final round qualifiers at Mumbai ATP. Clearly , he is one of the most talented players from India ( & Asia ) in long time.

Good thread. :D

Well done to Yuki, but it wasn't too much of a doubt once Tomic was out. Di is a decent player, too, though.

Next he plays Eddie Herr and then Orange Bowl. Anyone know whether he will do Orange Bowl 18s or 16s?

And in the doubles final, Yuki and his Taiwanese partner Liang Huang beat the top-seeded pair of Bernard Tomic (Australia) and Hiroki Moriya (Japan) 7-5, 6-2
Nice to hear for other Brambri tennis player, joining his sisters Ankita and Sana and cousin Prerna.
Did he train in Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy?

With all 1989 born players falling out of the rankings, in the new ITF junior rankings released Yuki is now ranked 16. He is third among 1992 born players behind 12th ranked Bernard Tomic of Australia & 15th Ryan Harrison of USA & is the highest ranked Asian player just ahead of 17th ranked Yang Tsung- Hua of Taiwan .

All the best to him for new season.
