Hey tennis-experts,

I was wondering if there is a list of youngest players to participate in a Grand Slam without having a WC in the Open Era. Could Carlos Alcaraz become one of the youngest in that list if he wins tomorrow or even qualifies as LL?

Vintage teenagers, to check out
Aaron Krickstein 1967 (US 83)
Michael Chang 1972 (US 87)
Boris Becker 1967 (Wimb 84)
Kent Carlsson 1968 (RG 84)

Perhaps others, as the 80's were favorable to early players.

Please, stop that.

Where is insult?

I did not call you here.
And I don't see Nakashima and Musetti in your post, as there isn't Zverev, Kokki, Tiaffoe, Sinner in the twitt. 😑

Go in peace and go your way.

If you have a problem, complain to a mod, there is one here (which has up my post)

Yeah Lleyton and Chang are my initial thoughts.

Lleyton was 15yo 10 months when he got a WC into ‘97 AO Quals, so not a MD wildcard. He won all 3 matches in qualifying, in straights with breadsticks in each. Given Chang got a main draw wildcard in his first two slams and then was ranked okay, Hewitt has him covered here for young slam qualifiers.

aussies in ‘97 AO
MD - 6
WC - 7
Q - 2

Hewitt played Bruguera in AO when he was 15 if memory is correct.
