Alexa Glatch, a 15-year-old wild card, upset Martina Sucha 6-1, 6-4 Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Forest Hills Women's Classic. Glatch, a high school junior from Newport Beach, Calif., will face Sania Mirza, who eliminated Roberta Vinci 6-2, 6-1. In the other quarterfinals, Lucie Safarova beat Antonella Serra Zanetti 6-3, 6-3, and Iveta Benesova defeated Zuzana Ondraskova 6-1, 6-4.
