Mary Pierce of France and Elena Dementieva of Russia will meet in Saturday's opening singles of the Fed Cup final, eight days after the pair played at the U.S. Open. Also in Friday's draw, Amelie Mauresmo was pitted against Anastasia Myskina in the second match at Roland Garros. Dementieva was irked when Pierce took a 12-minute injury timeout during last week's U.S.
