Third-seeded Amelie Mauresmo reached the quarterfinals of the Porsche Grand Prix on Thursday when Jelena Jankovic retired with a virus. Jankovic withdrew after losing the first set 6-0 at the event which has been hit by illness to players, and where Kim Clijsters could pass Maria Sharapova as the top-ranked player.
