The All Russian final (even though neither plays for Russia :D ).

I think that Kukushkin is better player at the moment ... Late last year he pushed No1e to the limits at Shanghai, and at Basel he defeated Wawrinka ...
The matchup again favors Kuku .. his game is aggressive and I think Viktor can't stay with him during the rallies.

The only way Viktor can win is if he serves perfectly (wins all his service games) and Kuku drops mentally and gives up a break or two ...

Prediction ... unfortunately Kukushkin in three :(

First ATP final between two qualifiers. Picking Troicki here.
Really interesting, because in this same week we have yet another qualifier finalist with Vesely.

Troicki was born in Belgrade, Why did you call him russian?

Paternal grandparents emigrated from Azov Sea after 1917 Communist Revolution.

I guess his father was also working in Moscow but I am not sure.

"Troitski" is definitely not sounding Serbian at all, maybe a little bit of Makedonian but it is only a little private joke to a Balkanic drug.

As there was no organized and stuctured tennis center in Serbia (apart Jelena Gencic touring) before 2010, I guess it is difficult to say I was really "built" by Srbske Tenis Savez.

But he is definitely proud to play in Serbia DC Squad.

I go for Kukushkin, although I really don't care one way or the other for either player. Troicki has always given me the creeps. I hope Mikhail wins and shuts people with intrusive questions about his personal life regarding having his wife as his coach. Mind your business, commentators!

*Oceania. Although, New Zealand sometimes is counted as part of the Australian archipelago, the more precise grouping for the Pacific Islands + Australia + New Zealand is Oceania.

Funny, Troicki and Vesely are both in the Sydney and Auckland finals, going through qualifying correct me if I'm wrong, then now playing in AO in a sort of "final-final" (think of the former Best of 3's tournaments with a Best of 5 Final).

Anyway, not seen matches this week, but kind of hope Kukushkin wins this, especially after a good last run last season.

If Victor win this, that will be epic history. Basically that's why I'll be rooting for him. :worship:
That is one of the reasons I'm rooting for Viktor this year. His run is quite amazing and with a title would be an epic.

However I think that Kuku's game is too strong at the moment for Viktor. I hope I'm wrong

This match relies on how Kukushkin plays. You know what you are going to get from Troicki - big serving and pushing. Kuku is more talented player and if he turns up he will win.
Troicki most definitely did not just "serve and push" vs Mayer. He played very aggressive tennis which kinda reminded me a bit of how Kuku plays.

I honestly have no idea here. I think Kuku has a higher peak but that rarely matters.

After the SFs I'll go with Troicki in 3 but I have no problem at all being proven wrong.

Odd match here and there he may be aggressive but under pressure he resorts to norm. His forehand is a massive pushy shot.
