GOAT tournament. Not only do we get the long anticipated return of Chinaray, we have 3 Next Gen stars and future no1 players in de Minaur, Tsitsipas and Shapovalov. Plus we have the likes of Goffin and Verdasco. We could be in store for some great matches between the current and future greats of this sport. :yeah:

Like I said, the tour is damn deep these days.. (unless you're Djokovic and get Sousa/Millman B2B for a slam 4R/QF :p)

On 2nd note, the depth of this tournament is pretty basic or just above average.

Surprising to see that no one thinks Tsitsipas can win. He's a very good player. A strong field here. Bad luck for DiMinaur getting Sugita as a first round player because the latter can be very good. Likely, DiMinaur will win, but he could be upset here.

Decent field. The youngsters will try to challenge the old guard - Murray, who seeks to finally get back in business, and Goffin who'll try to defend his title and probably is the favorite. Pretty unfortunate they were drawn together for R2.

It's currently the best possible time to draw Sugita, he's on low confidence and in bad form. Lost 8 matches in a row.

Andy's quarter is not that bad though. If Goffin is anywhere close to his FHless LC level a win for the scot isn't unthinkable and Nando can always throw a stinker.

Here's hoping for a Tsitsipas - de Minaur SF in the bottom half.

Tragic that people laugh about the prospect of Tsitsipas becoming World #1 while De Mug gets away with it.

Shenzhen one of the best tournaments on the calendar, hope it will deliver again this year. 2015 edition was great.

Goffins elbow acted up against cilic and fed. If he is healthy murray has no chance in his current state. Goffins elbow/shoulder has been a problem whenever he has played a lot. In R1 he shud be good. Last two tournaments Goffin has gotten back on par with cincy semis and uso R16. He has done well in asia lately so its important to stay fit so he can vulture some points so he can keep within touching distance of the top 10.

However this draw is very hard. Potentially Murray, Dasco, Shapovalov and Tsitsipas in the final. This could be the road to a masters final

And Tokyo is stacked as well. Hope David is up for the challenge, could be fun

What sucks for David is that he's going to have to fly all the way from the US to China and have barely any time to rest.

He really should've skipped LC.

yes, he should have but he's such a massive fanboy of fed he'd never turn down the chance to play with him. what's more he was up tweeting and partying just an hour ago so he probably won't get into china much before wednesday

even at his best he stood no chance against murray. in the state he'll be in i fully expect murray will wipe the floor with him

i'm gonna go ahead and say he's not. what i saw at the laver cup was someone who's not 100%. it was obvious there was nomething wrong with his arm. he had no serve and his forehand was worse than it was against cilic. murray routined him at the best of times. without a serve or forehand murray will eat him alive.

david's elbow/shoulder has been a problem since the french open. it is worrying to me and should be to him that he can't go 3 matches without feeling pain. and in the laver cup it looked to be bothering him from the very beginning

Interesting lineup - mix of new blood with the old bucks.

I really hope Andy will make some progress in his return to top form - would be great to see him battle for the biggest trophies again.

Other than that - wishing for deep runs by Shapovalov and Tsitsipas.

Will be interesting to see how Denis reacts after last week's heartbreaking loss vs Klizan.

Stef on the other hand can't find his best form since Canada - I wonder if he's already too tired by the entire season or still manages to produce some great tennis this autumn.
