WWW RG QF [3] Federer vs [24] Wawrinka

Wawrinka will be tired after a 5 hr match. It will be an epic match nonetheless

At this point and time one would think Stan would win this, even after a 5 hour match.

The difference is that even with Tsitsipas's variety, Federer has a lot more tools to mess with a tired Stan. If Federer comes out guns a blazing, then this should be a straight forward match, but if Federer goes into nervous mode , then this could turn into a a brutal beatdown.

I don't care about H2Hs, but seeing this it would be great for Stan to equalise the RG/clay H2H.

Stan's stamina gets underrated and he has enough time to recover from today's match. Federer can't hold back and needs to be sharp. They've only played three sets each time they met so I'm going for four sets minimal.

I would make Federer favourite to win this after the long epic Stan just played. Should be a great match anyway, both guys playing pretty well at this tournament, but fatigue will likely catch up with Stan in the end. I'll say Federer in 4.

ahh, so Fed could brutally win in 3, or Stan could brutally win in 3?

Interesting. Lol.

Stan won't be tired.
He has played enough 5 setters with Novak and survived to tell the story.
Hoping for a good QF.

This year "potentially" there could be three blockbuster QFs:
1. Fed- Stan
2. Nole- Fog
3. DelPo- Thiem (Even Monfils- DelPo would be good).

Fantastic effort by Wawrinka to get this far, but he must be fully exhausted after that epic. I don't see him beating a relatively fit and in-form Federer who also had a bit more rest, though he'll certainly fight for it. Federer in 4.

The Swiss the favourite after today. Mainly because we don't know the Swiss his stamina after a match like he played. The Swiss has always been a though match up for the Swiss, just look at the H2H, but if the Swiss can recover and execute his backhand fine then the Swiss can be in trouble.

For now I'll say the Swiss in four.

I just hope that Stan doesn't bend over as he usually does when playing Federer. However, Stan won his last match vs. Fed at RG back in 2015, so we'll see. If I remember correctly all Wawrnika wins against Fed were on clay. I could be wrong though. Too lazy to check it out.

Fed will be fresh and rested. So, I have no clue what is going to happen. 50|50.

Stan is generally not allowed to beat Fed, but it will depend on whether Fed thinks he has a realistic chance to beat Rafa in the SF or not.

Fed can hardly have wished for a better opportunity. He will send Stan scampering around the court to exploit the fatigue. Fed to become the oldest RG semi-finalist since Pancho 51 years ago.
