What a downgrade compared to 2018 draw :) Gilles Simon defeated Marin CIlic and Kevin Anderson back to back. But the place in the calendar is terrible now.

Extremely weak field, many challengers are stronger than that.

By the way, those who complained ATP cup was unfair, they could have entered this for easy ranking points.

I am shocked that Paire traded his home Montpellier, where he was only 8th seed last year and got bagelled by almost retired Berdych, for this excellent field.

Haase is still in qualies. Will be an easy 250 title for him if he manages to qualify. What a talent this guy is.

Jesus, he almost lost to Silva? He's fallen so far without any major injury.

The world #86 has a bye. This tournament needs to move or it's dead in 5 years.

His knees had some surgeries and he's actually never been without pain in the last couple of years. But its true that his level has dropped quite a bit. Especially the consistency. He just can't keep the top 100 or top 50 level anymore for a couple of sets/matches in a row.

Those were the tournaments and fields when a special Spaniard would have had a field day

Best case scenario is for an Indian player to make a deep run, to sustain local interest in this event and fill seats.
