Novak to start match in 5th gear. This is stuff he gets hyped up for, the "unfinished business". Of course, PCB will have his say, it'd be rude to demean his involvement, but surely, if Novak takes this seriously, it shouldn't be a problem. If he doesn't, it could get messy. Let's see the state of Pablo's injury also. WO would be horrible, rhythm disruption is never good, 2011. comes to mind (even though Fed put on a f***ing masterclass performance).

Djokovic is at another place mentally here in Paris than he was in NYC, even if Nadal or Thiem is waiting on the other side of the draw.
PCB has been extremely solid and hitting his forehand with some extra verve, but it feels that on clay it is just a different matchup where Djokovic is able to dictate more.
At least this is what their previous clay matches tell us.
