Huge chance for North America's No. 1 talent here.

Sock is a talented shotmaker with an offensive game.

Robredo, on the other hand, is a defensive pusher with no offensive skills. He should have no business in a M1000, let alone on a fast HC.

Anything but Sock winning would be a negative suprise. My pick is NA's No. 1 talent in 2.

Robredo to save tennis. Sock should stick to doubles

Sock's recent improvements in results haven't necessarily indicated any great improvements in his game. He managed to reach Newport and Atlanta SFs primarily due to poor competition.

I think a clever player like Robredo should be able to expose Sock's backhand and keep him moving around the court, outlasting him in the longer rallies. The court speed in Cincinnati obviously limits how often Robredo will be able to stick to that gameplan but not to the extent that he should lose a set.
