Match of the season so far between two of the most talented shotmakers of the game. Tennis will win no matter who prevails. I hope that you all watch this match because I fear that Youtube bans highlights of this match because they can be considered as porn. Both have the pleasure to have their names written in my MTF signature, so that is a good indicator of how talented they are.
Kenny 2.0 is ready to rock the tour in 2015. After the unfair ATP ranking system relegated him out of the TOP100, it looks like some of the very TOP ATP players have already started a protest and withdrew from the Australian Open in order to let Kenny make it to the Main Draw without playing qualies. Kenny is very grateful to them and, in order to prevail the balance of karma in tennis he tanked versus the young talent Jenkins in Noumea and now he is using Auckland to prepare his Australian Open quest, where he will be one of the dark horses (maybe the most dangerous unseeded player with Del Potro). Kenny already played two qualie matches and we already saw how much focused he was: Kenny defeated the uprising talented player Marcus Daniell and, after that, he routined Falla in two sexy tie breaks (remember that Falla took Federer to the limit in his best surface in their last three encounters: Wimbledon 2010, Olympics 2012 and Halle 2014).
In the other hand, Giraldo had the best season of his career in 2014 and he is really focused to maintain a good ranking in 2015. In addition, winning an ATP title would be great. Santiago has a very clean game and a particular style of play where can make the game slow and fast at the same time. According to his comments in social networks, he has been training in improving his hard court game. This will be his first match of the season, but we already know that we can expect some good things from Santi.
A very tough call, but I would say that Kenny will win in three sets. Kenny's serve will be a very important weapon, and Santi hasn't played since Paris while Kenny is playing his fourth match of the season. But I will be OK with any other result. Normally I get frustrated when Kenny tanks, but if he does it tomorrow it will be a "sweet tank".
Allez Kenny!
