Re: 2019 Wimbledon Lawnchair Discussion (Draw Available Fri Jun 28)

I was about to ask who the hell is Paul Jubb and why does he deserve a main draw wild card, while established grass veterans like Mahut and Lopez don't get any. He's 19 and both his pro and junior record are not really impressive.

But apparently he earned this wild card due to his success in US college tennis: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/48583637
Maybe he'll pull a Marcus Willis.

Berankis has beaten two players in the MD at Wimbledon, Carsten Ball and Andreas Haider-Maurer by retirement. Marcus took his chance, and won - it was probably one of the few times I'd seen him enjoy playing tennis.

A few days ago Rafa decided to visit Gdansk, Poland, perhaps to prepare for a long holiday on his yacht Chrissy, purchased in Gdansk during the 2018-2019 off-season.

Click on the picture for some more beautiful photos with Rafa and his family. :)

Now only Yesterday,

Rafa's preparation for Wimbledon takes an unfortunate respite

So what's up with Rafa?

I'm still hoping Nadal plays Wimbledon, and he has just been arranging his post Wimbledon holiday, but I'm not looking past the draw.

Respectfully,
masterclass
Looks like normal body pains going from clay to grass. Maybe hurt the knee diving off the boat? Who knows. I only hope for health. Many days of practice remain before the big dance.

The first WC's are out:

GENTLEMEN'S SINGLES
Marcos BAGHDATIS (CYP)
Jay CLARKE (GBR)
Paul JUBB (GBR)
James WARD (GBR)

Yes Jubb won the NCAA singles title so he is legit. We will see who he draws and how well he can do. Can definitely win a match, and perhaps even 2 with the correct draw. Or will lose in 3 easy sets with the wrong draw, or anything in between

He got a qualifying one, dumb choice by Wimbledon
No, make him take the hard road. His father has a high role in the LTA, he's already gotten enough shortcuts.

Feliciano got one 0:)
what a shame Mahut lost that tight match against Simon

Still one WC left and that will be for the Ilkley Winner
SF line up: Soeda vs Koepfer and Majchrzak vs Novak

good luck Kamil!!

Dimitrov.
That cannot possibly be Dimitrov.

Far as I can tell, these are the players in the comic, left to right, top to down:

Monfils, Djokovic, Thiem, Nishikori, Federer, Isner, Schwartzman, Zverev, Delpo, Nadal, Poodle, Tsitsipas, Kyrgios.

Ok, there's no Poodle, just a dog, but you get the idea.

Should be Alex's dog: Lovik (may be wrong spelling?)

Without bandana it would be more like Dimitrov to me, with bandana and zoomed in on his nose it is Delpo :)
