Osaka keeps winning in Osaka  Osaka - Pavliučenkova final it is.

Kenin continues her epic seson, beats Stosur in the final of Guangzhou. Svitolina (1) lost in 2nd round here to Bouzkova :spit:

And a Muchova - Linette final in Seul.

Muchova wins her first title and i'm really happy for her. hands down she has the most attractive game on tour right now. so much variety and so much intelligence. i love it. she's really won me over since her wimbledon run.

Riske grabs the opening set off Petra who helped her out with a botched easy volley at deuce.

Petra was up 5-3 40-15* on Riske's serve in second set.
Petra then saved a few BPs with good serves to get to SP but Riske fought back to level 5-5!

Huge win for Riske. After saving those SPs she couldn't turn back, stole the set from Petra to make a maiden Wuhan P5 final!

I'll be cheering her on to beat Sabalenka.

Sabalenka gt her game togehter just in time. There was an interesting interview where she talks about travelling alone and thinking a lot more on the court. And playing freely again.
It really is hard after a breakthrough season, from a hunter you become the hunted one. Plus more pressure.

As for Riske... she's lucky Quitova showed up once again.

No, Sabalenka just does well at this event for some reason.

How the fuck did Riske do so well on HC, why you calling her Quitova? weird event indeed.

Because sometimes she just quits playing :rolls: And Quitova is pronounced almost exactly like Kvitova.

We'll see about Sabalenka. Is this just a great week or beginning of something bigger.

What is up with the weird Beijing draw, the 4 SF's of Wuhan get byes, never seen that before, that goes against every normal tennis rule, who is running that event.
They give performance byes for Wuhan SFs otherwise players will be missing Beijing because the tournament overlap and also flop the next round. It makes sense, and other tournaments like Cincy, Miami and Rome should follow suit.

pretty amazing end to second set. Kvitova was so handy on the serve. Somehow Riske would not let her take the set.
