what is his game like?
He has beaten Henman who is on the decline so it was possible.
But Tommy Haas 7:6 in the third.
Haas has been playing well
but even an average Haas is a solid tour professional and Isner beat him.
How does he beat the player?
Does he just do it with a big serve like some guys out of nowhere?
any facts much appreciated.

For me it's obvious that Isner since now wins against Blake everywhere 7-6 7-6... even on clay :haha:

Someone that can play tennis and has earned a shot without sponsors muscling him in.

I wonder why he hasn't drawn the media support.

James Blake never won the NCAA title, yet he signed a multi-million dollar contract when he turned pro, him and his brother. I wonder why Isner can't get that kind of support?

How did he come out of nowhere? I don't think he really came out of nowhere. He has the amateur credibility, i.e. the college tennis background. It has just been more rare in recent years for good players to come out of college compared to the 80s when Jay Brger and Rodney Harmon had great runs at Grand Slam events while still in college, so people tend to write off players from college tennis when it comes to competing on the tour. Isner has what it takes to compete at a high tour level right out of the gate, which is awesome.
