What are the worst chokes you have seen, whether playing well all tournament and freezing with fear in the final, or letting a huge lead slip away.
And these aren't related to injury or the other player stepping it up a level:

Todd Martin v Carlos Moya, 2000 US Open

Paul Henri Matthieu v Andre Agassi, 2002 French Open

Greg Rusedski v Todd Martin, 1999 US Open

Todd Martin v Mali Vai Washington, 1996 Wimbledon

Pat Rafter v Pete Sampras, 2000 Wimbledon

Ivan Ljubicic v Stefan Koubek, 2001 Australian Open

Gaudio Coria FO 04

Graf Novotna Wimbledon 93 (I know MTF)

I'll add more later if I can think of some

not correct Ljubicic lost to Grosjean in 2001 AO in 3 sets.

2002 was the year-R32 Ferreira, Wayne (RSA ) 43 6-4 6-4 6-7(3) 3-6 5-7

Jana Novotna vs Chanda Rubin. I dont remember the year, Novotna was 5-0 40-0 up in 3rd, had 9 matchpoints and all she did was crying after she lost 5-7

PS Roland Garros

Was thinking more of the men than the women, the girls seem to choke all the time, even the top ones, Hingis v Capriati Australian Open 2003, Clijsters v Venus Wimbledon 2003 or even Davenport v Sharapova at Wimbledon last year.

Coria v Gaudio was shocking, but Coria was injured. Todd Martin is a name that come up again and again, what about his 2000 exploits against Agassi in the Wimbledon second round?

the original poster said times they've had a big lead and let it slip away, i'd call 2 sets to love and up a break a big lead. james had that match and let him back in. it wasn't all about andre starting to play better, james couldn't close it out.

This is my choice too  . I was going to post it but thought this was only for ATP.

Anyway, ATP or WTA, for me, this was the worst choke ever. :)

Edit to add:
"Chanda Rubin defeats Jana Novotna 7-6, 4-6, 8-6 in the French Open's third round (1995) ...
... The Rubin victory was astounding as the young American somehow came back from a 5-0, 40-0 triple-match-point hole in the final set to win."
