Some very good play from Dulcos who I had never heard of before. Ryan seemed to have no answer to Dulco's serve and volleying and he didn't serve very well today. A bit of a wasted opportunity as he must have fancied his chances when Anderson withdrew but Dulcos got off to a great start and played a lot better than his ranking.

Wow, great win for Pierre! Couldn't believe when I saw his name on the scoreboard, much less winning...

I have known Pierre for awhile, and this couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Pierre has a HUGE serve, and has primarily been a doubles specialist throughout his career. As a matter of fact, he traveled with Ryler DeHeart exclusively to play doubles on the challenger circuit for awhile.

To see him playing, and winning, singles matches on the ATP main tour is awesome. Good luck next round Pierre!

PLD, how unexpected, especially after he got smoked by Mello. This time two months ago, he looked in real trouble, the #8 Canadian and almost out of the top 500, but he's come around alot since then. Great for him to get this result, hopefully he can keep his momentum over the rest of the season.

Ozone is a ballkid here this week, and Ryan has been throwing up non stop for two days. He only took the court for the fans. Hes been in bed, didnt warm up, anything. Stomache flu, and should be good to go before US Open. This is all directly from his father.
