Re: R2: Tomic def. Herbert: 7:6, 6:4, 7:6

Despite suffering heatstroke, Bernard got this done in straights.

His returning needs a bit of work, but decent composure to get it done in straights (esp serving out the 2nd when he was really bothered). Might have been outlasted in 5 if he dropped a set.

Herbert is an interesting prospect. Great serve, nice touch.

As match went on though his return was very poor. Strokes were quite erratic at times. Tomic always looked more solid in the rallies, but probably lucky to win it in straights.

It's hard to be a prospect when he is 23 years old. :p :p Moreover, not with this ground game, not in this era, sadly. He is successful in doubles though due bolded reasons.

Good win for Tomic considering he lost to Herbert last year. I'm a little surprised the heat bothered him so much as I thought an Australian would be used to far worse temperatures than we have here. Hopefully he's okay for his next match.
