Ymer's first set tiebreak was his high point, he would've needed that level some more to win. I didn't expect him to do anything in the grass season so this was a bonus. Serve games need improvement to beat better players.
yeah Ymer wasnt bad, but Karlovic is almost unbreakable on grass. Ymer took his chance in the first TB and that was his highlight of this match.
Took until 3rd set for Ymer to hit a volley winner and tbh he kinda played his normal "clay tennis" on grass. It's alright nowadays and on a slow court or if the grass was more worn down he'd do better. He also slipped many times, including on a very critical point in 4th set TB. Maybe his shoes were bad, but more likely he lacks some experience. He will improve on grass in the future, but luckily for him Båstad is next
Ymer did pretty well. Thought it was deserving of a fifth set.
He won 23% return points, which was the same number as Federer when he won and more than Haase (21%) when he won. For the other grass court matches, Ito won 17%, Giraldo 25%, Zverev 21%, and Berdych 21%.
