Re: Wimbledon: Final set tie-breaks to be introduced in 2019

I think it's the best idea. Bots can bot their way to 6-6 very easily on grass, so having the tiebreak at 12-12 gives the returner more chance, while still putting a limit to how long the match can go on for.

Now the question is who will be the first player ever to win a match 13-12 in the fifth?
Ivo seems to be too old, best candidates: John Isner, Milos Raonic, Kevin Anderson. But I am sure we could get a surprise :)

Stupid. Either do it at 6-6 or not at all
6-6 makes it the same as the other sets, look at how US Open doesnt get enough match highlights compared to other slams.

Most likely some challenger level player with good serve, Istomin for an example. Anderson and Milos are good enough to win in 3 or 4 sets.

I can mention that when Wimbledon first introduced TBs in the first four sets, they had them at 8-8, not 6-6.

A qualifier, surely. Lots of close matches in the qualies.

Until 12-12 is okay. Normally the Matches end earlier, if you're Name is not Isner or Anderson. It keeps the drama and cuts the length a litte. Nice! :)

Isner and mahut will be happy, their record will never be broken now and forever

I think they would rather not have TB's at all, and we will rarely see them. Setting it at 12-12 should allow most matches to reach their natural conclusion without getting silly.

Excellent decision. A tiebreak a 6-6 would have been to harsh. US Open should do the same.

And now have a snickers everyone, and stop your goddamn complaining.

It's high time. Shame they didn't do it a year earlier so that KAndy would have beaten the Serb in the finals.

12-12 is too late and still fucks the winning party over.

6-6 or 9-9 imo. 10-9 would be a cool final tiebreak.

Disgusting and pathetic, a rule which was working well for years need to change only because of botner.
Ppl who rejoice this decision should remember that it is the beginning of continuous attack on the bo5 game , this year 12-12, few years later 6-6, then fast 4.
Ppl need excuse to attack the game and shorten down the format for ' casual fans' .
Just horrible to think that one can win slam matches in Wimbledon without a single break
