Wimbledon Ballot: who's been successful?

Just got a successful letter back. However, I've been given two tickets for the second Tuesday on Centre Court. That's women's QF day. £130.Not interested at all.
Will most likely attempt to get the groundpass tickets for a couple days in the first week as there will be plenty of great players on the outer courts, who I'd much rather see.

If there is similar rain like last year, you might end up with totally differernt matches for that Tuesday.
A bit of advice, if you don't want them, don't try to sell them on ebay
I sold tickets for the women's final last year and have only just settled it with Wimbledon's solicitors who were threatening to sue me :retard:

Yep, I was thinking of that but I don't want to end up spending £130 and then hoping that there's rain. Not interested in the WTA matches at all. I think first week I'll be able to see alot of the mens matches on the outer courts, and there's a chance of getting centre court tickets if you arrive early. So, I'll probably do that. Alot of the players I want to see will probably not be on the show courts.Yeah, the organisers are pretty mental when it comes to that. What happened with you? Did they threaten to recoup the money from your sale? How did you settle it?

Eventually I had to pay back all the money I made plus a bit more. They had opened up a court case with me and all the others who had sold tickets on ebay, and as I didn't have much of a defence, I had to settle before it got to court.

Yep, first thing I thought of too. Until you read all the terms on the letter they send you which is very explicit in forbidding selling on tickets.The process is quite a long one. You basically send an application form to Wimbledon to enter into a ballot for tickets. By February, the people who got chosen in the ballot get sent a letter stating that two tickets have been allocated for you. The rubbish thing is they specify the date and court. So, I ended up being given Tuesday of the 2nd week which is WTA Quarter Finals. If I want the tickets, I just send the letter back with the cheque for payment. I think it's a poor process.

You can pay like £3,000 to go through one of these legal ticket agencies.
Well I knew you're not supposed to, but I didn't think they'd take it so far. I mean, it's not like I was the only one doing it, there were over 100 tickets on there.
If they didn't have such a fucked up ticketing method they might not get so many problems :shrug:

Just go to qualies at Roehampton. It's free and much nicer.
Yep, and this is why they're all a bunch of bastards. It's the same with football, you get a huge amount of ticket agencies buying in bulk and selling for extortionate prices. More often than not, the people who end up getting these tickets aren't fans.
