Wimbledon is my favourite tournament of the year, it was rightly cancelled last year but still disappointed that it did.

Looking forward to the 2021 edition :)

Most tennis is mostly in continental Europe until Wimbledon, and much of Europe has issues with Covid-19 still. Given the UK is a leader with vaccinations, there is reason for optimism, and for Wimbledon to be an improvement of prior events.
I am still nervous. There are mixed signs on how settled things are even with vaccines. Hopefully just because it is all a little early, but still reason for caution to be mixed with the optimism. Might take other measures in combination with vaccines for all this to be in the past.

But all in all, Wimbledon could be a good one.

if he brings his B game or better I don’t see anyone stopping him on this surface.
lmao...can't even win a Challenger and you think he's going to run Wimbledon. The level of tennis intelligence on this forum is declining by the day

It's more unpredictable and entertaining than RG where Nadal's competition is Short Stuff and burned out Thiem.
And by about halfway thru the monotonous plodding Clay season, i’m ready to turn to other sports. If they had at least half the number of Grass tourn. as during the ad nauseam Clay season, Grass would generate even more traction & competition. Ultimately, i envision Grass as a niche surface w/ conditions that only the most all rounded w/ special skill sets can master. Being w/o it for nearly 2 years is borderline criminal.

Really? Aside from Federer, Djokovic, and to an extent Nadal, neither of the other players know how to play on grass. It would be an utter mugfest.
Medvedev definitely will struggle

But like when courier beat edberg when he was given little chance and demoted seeding,
I think the non grassers will do quite well

I can't believe it's almost two years since we could witness some proper tennis on grass.

I believe Wimbledon 2021 could be one for the ages.

With the FO most likely to be postphoned, even the clay specialists can focus fully on grass, trying to adapt their game and match the grass specialists.

Imagine, witnessing tennis on the holy ground, with a crowd roaring. With the vaccination progressing so smootthly in GB, this is a very likely scenario.

So many stories to be told.

Djokovic, wanting to defend the title, making a step closer to certain GOAThood and cementing his legend status

Federer, coming back from the grave again, wanting to avenge his most brutal defeat two years ago, which still has me in ruins

Nadal, wanting to prove that he can pull it off on quick, low bouncing, too, and hence sending "he is just a clay specialist" tards like me into unimaginable ruins

Medvedev, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev all want to prove that they can go for all on the surface that requires the most skill.

And then there is, of course, Nick Kyrgios, whose unpredictable game shines the most in Wimbledon, and whose underarm serves will have the world vibrating with pure joy.

I can't fucking wait, people. I will be glued in front of the TV for two weeks.

How excited are you? Please share your thoughts :)

I expect great final between Hurkacz and Sinner. It will be a tennis feast for all of us.
We don't have to worry about the future of tennis anymore.

Not sure about those entries, but there will be some mug(gle)s for sure, as even Wimbledon may have players absent this time.

That's the problem with grass tennis. Very few countries play on grass so the talent pool is exceptionally sparse.

We know the Big 4 have dominated for a long time. What's telling for me in terms of entertainment is who excels outside of The Big 4.

Over the past 5 years or so (since 2016), at RG, we've had Thiem (finalist), Wawrinka(finalist), Tsitsipas(SF), JMDP (SF). Players with great shot-making ability and for me, a joy to watch.

When you ask the same question about Wimbledon, the answer is a bit depressing, We've had Raonic(finalist), Anderson (finalist), Isner (SF), Querrey(SF). One-dimensional servebots who try their best to avoid any rallies beyond 4 shots and play the same point again and again and again. Grass lends itself to favouring this dull brand of tennis. Yawn!
