At the age of 19, Nick has already played in the main draw of several GS events reaching the QF's of 2. A good portion of his ranking points have come from GS's and he's only played in 4 ATP events. Only winning 1 match in them (Toronto 2014 vs Giraldo). So in Kyrgios's career will he be more geared towards the slams only? Or has this been the case for him because of injuries forcing him to only compete in the slams? Discuss.

Well, first, I would like to know who are the best "slams specialists" of the last 20-25 years! I don't know the kind of profile of player you're looking for... If I understand oorrectly, that would be a player that overperformed in slams considering his other results... That would exclude the top 4 ...
I guess you could compare the percentile of wins in slams, and the global percentile in ATP events of wins to know it.

If he could pull it off why not. Nobody gives a shit about any other tournament really. MS and other tournaments are basically just slam practice.

By the age of 20 Djokovic reached the semis of all slams, and won one.

Almost the same was said for Tomic once, he did well at two slams, Wimbledon and AO (QF, 4R), however he didn't build much on that so far.

Djokovic's slams were the real weak era of tennis, so it doesn't count nobody cares

You just admitted Federer's era was weak? :spit: Considering he reached his first four slam semis during Fraud's peak

Nick has played 27 matches above the challenger level. 17 of which are grand slam matches.
He has 2 QFs at majors to his credit but 0 at ATP level.

But this will be his first full year on the main tour.
