James Blake has played beautiful tennis lately....but I wonder, Is he going to reach number 1?......or Is he going to stay as an average "good" player?

What do you all think?

Don't think he has yet displayed the drive and determination to reach the top.

But winning that 1st title today may be good for the confidence

He won't get to number one, at least I don't think so! Not because he's not a good player, because he is, but i believe there are better young players out there! I don't think he'll ever be good to surpass Lleyton, Marat, Juanqui, Tommy, etc.... he might get past some of them in the rankings but not all of them!

I really don't know if he'll be in the top ten, but he's definitely top 20 quality!

As much as I like James and his play, I don't think he'll reach #1 in the world. He's going to be a good player--great, even--but I don't think he's got that special something that #1 players need. He needs consistency to get into the Top 15, but I don't think he has something to drive him to #1. Look at the Top 5 right now--Hewitt has the best mental strength, Safin has the best game, Haas has a little of it all. Agassi has one of the best return games. Blake doesn't have any of those and though he can get better in each area, I don't think he'll be the best.

i adore James and may be biased by lust but i've decided that he has #1 potential. i didn't used to think this. in fact, up to last week i put him as a Top 10 player. but i've changed my mind. James will get to #1. you heard it here first...

James has got that "Im dead" behavior sometimes in the court. I mean, he acts like he was dead, just waiting for the moment to jump on his opponent´s throat.

I wont say if he can be a #1, since its too early for that. He is top 20 material, yes. He can be top 10 material. Lets wait and see a little more.

Yes, reckon he's top 20 material. Would like him to get further & overtake Roddick. Prefer his game 7 the way he behaves on the court.

I like James' game but don't think that he will make it to number 1. He has the potential to go into the top 10 but that may be his apex.

I'm just hoping that he has a nice, consistent career AND that he will outdo Andy Roddick. LOL
