Djokovic is bound to decline after another season or two at the top... Nadal is done and Murphy is not a threat to Fed (5-1 majors). Fed has comfortably probably another 3-5 years in the top 5 and the new generation are useless...

Fed is 6 years olderer than Djokovic, and started his decline in 2007. Fed does not have the physicality to hang with today's SUPERATHLETE.

Not to mention, that I expect Fed to retire at latest, at the end of 2016.

So, NO.

Federer is in the Wimbledon final and ranked #2 in the world. Why would he retire in 1 year?

Fed will definitely retire end of 2016 or Wimby 2017 latest..he'll be 36 then...can you imagine him trying to go toe to toe with some 25 year old at that age from the baseline especially on clay :haha: Even now everyone's bossing him from the baseline. A year is a long time in tennis, particularly for a 34 year old.

Agassi reached slam final at 35, and Fed's game is not energy expending. He just reached WB final even if his baseline game has eroded. His serve is peaking and better than ever.

He reached the final of Rome and lost to peak Stanimal in the French. He could have won the French if it wasn't for Stanimal.

:rolls: :rolls: :rolls:

He lost to peak Stanimal yes but he'd have lost to anyone. He's losing to Cilic and Seppi at HC slams FFS. He's irrelevant at all slams bar Wimbledon at the moment and at all events bar AO warm up 250, Dubai, Basel, Halle, Shanghai, Toronto, Cincinnati and WTF. He can't even play BO5 matches against the top guys anymore....I think this is just one of those jinx threads for tomorrow TBH....his serve will go in a year or year and a half. Agassi had far, far less mileage than Fed. Not even comparable.

Yep, it's happening in the near future. He will dominate another useless era.

MTF knee jerk reactions

As good as Federer was yesterday he is also capable of losing to guys like Seppi in other slams. I can't see him winning FO or AO again...courts too slow.

He's irrelevant at all slams

Nobody in a slam final is irrelevant.

Youre getting carried away here. This is Federers last push. The next decline is PERMANENT. Whose to say Novak wont rule for another 4 years.

You are seriously underestimating this mans will to win. Not to mention fitness. And despite the current crop not being able to step up. Wawrinkas and cilics are going to have THEIR DAY.

So NO. Only on grass will Federer be a real factor over the next few years.

Be sure of THIS a new phenom will emerge in the next few years who have us wondering. They always do.

Yeah theres nothing like getting carried away. Lets see if Federer can even win this. Also just because murray isnt beating Roger and Novak at the moment. Doesnt mean it will stay that way.

Then theres Nadal of course. He may have one or two slams left in him. All it takes is a run of good form at the right time like Federer has found now and you never know.

If Serena can do it why not Federer who is better than her. Federer took a break from the top of the game for some years . Yes he still played but only to QF or SF just to be in public'eye for his image. He got a family and look after them. Now maybe he is ready to come back on top if he is healthy.
