What do you think, will he play enough events and earn enough points to finish in the top 8 or not?? Rogie qualifying for London to me is of the utmost importance, so here's to him doing so!!

He probably will but it obviously depends on results and the amount of tournaments he plays. All he needs to do his go deep in 2 or 3 big tournaments and he’ll qualify

No highl5 unlikely. He's defending Halle, Wimbledon F, USO QF, Shanghai QF, Basel, WTF SF. Not to mention the 3100 points he'll already lose for being away for 5 months.
He'll be ranked outside the top 10 by end of Wimbledon and outside the top 15-20 by end of the year.

Those points he is defending are irrelevant for London. He is saving his 40-15 body to go deep in the second half of the year for his favourite tournaments. Last year Matteo had 2670 points to qualify, it should be possible for a healthy Roger to get 3000.

I think he will.

Based on how players qualified during the recent years, he would need to earn anywhere between 2,700 to 3,300 points to qualify for ATP Finals. He has already earned 720 points for AO SF run, and would need another 2,000 to 2,600 points from tournaments from Halle to Paris Masters. Halle and Basel would give him 1000 points; who would stop him at those two events? He would need another 1,000 to 1,600 points from Wimbledon, US Open, Cincinnati, Shanghai, etc. He should qualify.

You are confused with ATP ranking points and ATP Race points.

Doesn't matter how many points he is defending. You need to add up all the points from all the tournaments he played and he will play in 2020, and if those points add up to 2,700 to 3,300, he should qualify.

I think there's only really five 'guarantees' in Djokovic, Nadal, Thiem, Zverev and Tsitsipas to make it there. Probably Medvedev too.

Is he going to lose out on those two final places to the likes of RBA, Fognini and Monfils? Probably not.

6th in the race despite only playing one tournament so far this season.

As others have said depends if he can play a full schedule when he returns. Winning Halle and Basle, Semi final at Wimbledon and quarters at US open and you'd imagine that will be enough.

If he will play anywhere close to his normal level, he definitely will. Or do you see 8 players threatening him?
