No. The maximum amount of points that a singles player can earn in the ATP Cup is 750. Federer has a 765 point lead on #4 Dominic Thiem.
Seedings for the AO will be based on rankings as of Monday Jan 13, the day after the ATP Cup ends.
Rog will still be #3. RAFA and Novak will still be #1 and 2 respectively, no matter what, since RAFA is 840 points ahead of Novak.

But rankings can certainly change for players from 4 to 6, who are all within 525 points of each other.
Curiously, players from 9 Bautista-Agut to 17 Khachanov are within 700 points of each other, so their performances could be interesting as well.
Players from 18 - Minaur all the way to 48 Millman are also within 750 points of each other.
Of course, only one player can possibly win 750 points at the ATP Cup. :)

Novak and RAFA's points gained in the ATP Cup could still be important for them retaining #1 and #2 after the AO.

Theoretically, if Rog won the Australian Open, he would be #2, not considering Novak's points from the ATP Cup.
Federer would gain 1820 points so 8410, and Novak would drop at least 800 points if he made the AO finals, leaving him at 8345.

If Novak won all his matches at the ATP Cup and gained 750 points there, then he would only need to make the semis to retain #2 over Federer.
Of course, Novak could also get #1 back if he were to win the ATP Cup and the AO, and Nadal did not make the finals.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Good, as long as Rogie stays #3 for now, I'm happy!! If 1-4 and 5-8 have the same names, the QF pairings won't change really for the 2020 AO...

there really is no difference between 3 and 4 anyway. both have equal shot of being matched with 1 or 2 and previous rounds have same chances of being matched with anyone!!!!!
